About the Kutch
Located on the Indo-Pak border, is the Great Rann of Kutch, or the world’s largest salt desert. One will get to see the vastness of this part of Gujarat and also see how life flourishes in this region. The tour also opens many doors to the fascinating beauty of the salt desert and its cultures. You can also participate in the ‘Ran Utsav’ and witness the colorful aspects of the Rann of Kutch by joining the December tour. Since this tour these tours revolve around some of the important places and landmarks in the vicinity, you can also enjoy the magnificence of the region.
Following your arrival at Bhuj Railway Station or Airport by around 09:30 AM, you will be served a filling breakfast along with some refreshments. Post this, take a drive to a campsite in Hodka, which is close to Rann of Kutch; on your way, you can have a glimpse of the Tropic of Cancer, Bhrandiyari and Khava regions. Arriving at the campsite, enjoy a delicious lunch and head towards Dhordo to enjoy the astounding sunset views over the Rann of Kutch. The day will conclude with a glimpse of the Rann Utsav and a traditional Kutch dinner; the overnight stay will be at the camp.
Today morning; after breakfast, depart the campsite and make your way towards Kala Dungar, or the highest point of Kutch.
Following this, you will be guided to a quaint village called Nirona, which is known for the Rongan Art styles. After having lunch, visit the Thaan Monastery and Fossil Park and by late evening you will be checked in to a heritage house for your overnight stay.
After having breakfast in the heritage house, you will be driven towards the southern part of Kutch. During the day, you will be visiting several landmarks and important destinations like Mandvi Town and Bazaar, a shipbuilding yard, and model-making workshop, Shyamji Krishna Verma Memorial, Vijay Vilas Palace, and Mandvi Beach. Upon completion of your visits, you will be driven back to the heritage house for your overnight stay.
On the last day of your tour; after having breakfast, you will be checked-out from the heritage house and driven to the Bhuj-Kutch Museum, Pragmahal, Aina Mahal, Bhuj Bazaar, and Bhuj Haat. The day will conclude with your visit to a weaving village called Bhujodi and Hira Laxmi Memorial Craft Park; you can also indulge in some local shopping. Following your dinner, you can board the return train to Mumbai and mark the end of this lively
