Kedarnath is a City in the Rudraprayag District of Garhwal Division in the State of Uttarakhand, India. It is 86 km away from Rudraprayag, the district headquarter. It is famous for Kedarnath Dham, which is a holy place for the followers of Hinduism. The Shivling of the Kedarnath temple located here is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and is counted among the Chardham and Panch Kedar of Hinduism. Kedarnath temple is very ancient. It is said that at the age of 32, Jagatguru Shankaracharya took samadhi here in Shri Kedarnath Dham. He had got the present temple built. There is a lake here in which ice floats, it is popular about this lake that Yudhishthira went to heaven from this lake. At a distance of six kilometers from Shri Kedarnath Dham, there is Vasuki Taal on the Chaukhamba mountain, where there are plenty of Brahma Kamals. And the water in this pool is very cold. Here Gauri Kund, Son Prayag, Trijuginarayan, Guptkashi, Ukhimath, Agastyamuni, Panch Kedar, etc. are places of interest |
A meet-up at the departure point of the vehicle in Delhi will be communicated to you in advance . Overnight Journey towards Haridwar.
Reach Haridwar in the Morning, Where you can rest for a while before starting your onward journey to GuptkashiAt around 10:30 AM proceed towards Guptkashi, On the way take a short stopover at Devprayag where you can witness the Holy Sangam of Bhagirathi, and Alaknanda that together form Ganga. After this, You'll get back on the way to Guptkashi witnessing some of the most Beautiful Landscapes. On reaching Guptkashi, Check-In into the Hotel . Overnight stay at Guptkashi.
Wake up early and have a delicious breakfast. Head towards Sonprayag where your trekking to Kedarnath will start. Have a delicious breakfast and get transferred from Guptkashi to Sonprayag. Once we reach Sonprayag, we have to walk to the Government Union taxi stand, to reach Gaurikund. (Walk for 1 Km as no private vehicles are allowed in Gaurikund)Reach Gaurikund, Start the trek to the Kedarnath from Gaurikund. You can take ponies or palanquins for the journey to make it slightly on the comfortable side. (Own Expense).Trek through the beautiful valley and river stream. You can take a lunch stop in between and continue the journey, you will get to see the Kedarnath Temple, situated right at the center of the valley with mountains. On reaching Kedarnath, you'll witness the whole valley is filled with the sound of ringing bells and prayers going on everywhere this will surely provide relief to your soul. Overnight stay in Kedarnath.
Wake up early and have a delicious breakfast at Kedarnath temple. Walk from Kedarnath towards Gaurikund, you can take a pony or a palanquin for the journey to make it a little more comfortable. After reaching Gaurikund from there, will leave for Sonprayag by government taxi. Reach Sonprayag from where you will go to Guptkashi and check out from the hotel. Upon arrival in Rishikesh, check in at our hotel to freshen up or take a break and if time permits proceed for the Rishikesh sightseeing tour, you can explore the colorful bazaars, Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula. Have dinner and rest in Rishikesh. Night stay in Rishikesh.

Get ready for the adrenaline rush & the excitement experienced while riding & tumbling down the white waters of a fast-flowing river while rafting & reach Neem Beach. Get transferred to the hotel where you can freshen up &have your delicious breakfast. Complete the check-out formalities of the hotel & depart for Delhi. The best season (April-June) to visit Kedarnath is summer when the temperature is moderate and stays between 15-30 degrees Celsius. The sun is warm and there is a gentle cool breeze that makes the day pleasant.
Kedarnath Temple's opening date was decided on Mahashivratri every year and closed on Bhai Dooj. Generally, Kedarnath Temple opens in April-May and closed in Oct-Nov.
March is snowbound and offers a freezing climate. Kedarnath is closed and inaccessible during March. April is very cold during the evening and night and pleasant during the days. The region is covered with snow.
The Kedarnath Trek is a moderate to difficult 18-kilometer trek that necessitates a reasonable level of physical fitness. Ideally, you should be starting the trek at around 4:30 a.m. so you can finish it by 2 pm.
